1. Definitions

  • Personal data is information about a person who can be identified, directly or indirectly.
  • Processing is anything done with personal data, such as collecting, storing or using it.
  • You means anyone who visits our website or contacts us.
  • We, us and PLU mean Private Label University, part of Consider It Made.

2. How we handle your data

We collect only what we need to answer you and run our business, we use it for the reasons explained here, we keep it only as long as we need it, and we take reasonable steps to keep it accurate and protected.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in our discovery call form, we ask for your name, business name, email, role, website, location, what you import and from which countries, how many containers you bring in, your usual order size, whether you use a freight forwarder or customs broker, your biggest challenge and how you heard about us. We also receive whatever you write to us by email or share when you book a call.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, our site and the tools listed in section 6 collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site and how long you stay.

Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from people or companies who refer you to us, and from public sources such as your company website or public business profiles.

We do not ask for payment card details on this website.

4. How we use your information

  • To reply to you, review whether we’re a good fit and set up your discovery call.
  • To provide our consulting services if you become a client.
  • To understand how people use our website so we can improve it.
  • To show our ads to people who have visited our website, on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • To keep our website secure and to meet our legal obligations.

We send marketing emails only with your permission, and every marketing email lets you unsubscribe.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data for money. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run our website and business, such as our website host, email provider, scheduling tool (Calendly) and analytics and advertising tools. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
  • Advertising platforms (Meta and LinkedIn) through the tracking tools in section 6, so we can show our ads to people who have visited our site. Some U.S. state laws call this “sharing” for targeted advertising. You can opt out (see section 8).
  • Logistics, freight and customs partners, only if you become a client and ask us to connect you with them.
  • Legal authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights.

6. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar tools for these purposes:

  • Necessary: to make the site and our forms work and to remember your cookie choices.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics and Google Search Console show us how visitors find and use our site.
  • Advertising: the Meta Pixel and the LinkedIn Insight Tag let us measure our ads and show ads to people who have visited our site.

You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings on our site or on our Opt-out Preferences page, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To learn more about interest-based ads and opt out, visit aboutads.info.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we have about you and get a copy.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Object to or limit how we use it.
  • Get your data in a format you can take elsewhere.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Complain to your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email info@privatelabeluniversity.com. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

8. Extra rights for U.S. state residents

Residents of some U.S. states, including California, have the right to know what we collect, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of targeted advertising and of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal data. To opt out, use the cookie settings on our site or email us. Our site also honors Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser signals as an opt-out. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our answer.

9. Visitors from the EU, UK and Canada

Our services are for businesses in the United States and Canada. If you visit from the European Union or the United Kingdom, the rights in section 7 apply to you, and we rely on these legal bases: your consent (for analytics and advertising cookies and marketing emails), steps you ask us to take before entering a contract with us (such as reviewing your discovery call request), our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, and our legal obligations. Canadian visitors have rights of access and correction under Canadian privacy law, and you can contact us the same way.

10. How long we keep it

We keep form and email information for as long as we need it to talk with you, provide our services and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, and then we delete it. Analytics and advertising tools keep data according to their own settings and policies.

11. Data security

Our website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we limit who can access your information. No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

12. Children

Our website and services are for businesses and are not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

13. International data transfers

We are based in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information will be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers work, where privacy laws may be different from yours.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
