Marketing your business doesn’t have to be expensive. If you’ve only got a small budget set aside for marketing, don’t worry—there are plenty of ways you can effectively promote your products or services to your target market for little or no cost.
1. Social Media Marketing
Marketing on social media can seem daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it your product business can do exceptionally well. The key is consistency and engagement. Today’s consumers like to be engaged with the companies they choose to do business with. Try to post something on Facebook or Twitter at least once a day, and be sure to respond to comments, questions, and reviews in a positive manner to build trust and brand awareness.
2. Blogging
It costs nothing to have a blog, and if you can write your own blog posts, even better. If not, there are plenty of freelance writers that can provide you with a steady amount of blog posts for a reasonable cost. Blogging as an entrepreneur helps to establish you as an expert in your industry and also provides your customer base with more insight and information about your product business. Be sure to link to your blog on social media.
3. Email Marketing
Email marketing is extremely inexpensive but very effective at building revenue. Just try not to spam your customer base—instead, send them newsletters, announcements about new products or special promotions, and other information that they might appreciate. Be sure to include a call-to-action and a link back to a landing page to increase your ROI.
4. Create a Google My Business Account
Having a Google My Business account makes it easier for consumers in your local area to find you. You’ll show up in local searches and on Google Maps as well.
5. Business Cards
Because not all marketing is done online. You should always have business cards with you to hand out to take full advantage of inexpensive promotion. Make sure your business card is consistent with your brand.
6. Press Releases
Are you holding a special event, having a promotion, or releasing a new product? If you are doing something newsworthy, send out a press release. There are many free press release distribution services online.
Remember, while not all methods will produce results immediately, being consistent will soon yield more customers and increased revenue. Looking to add a product to grow your business?
