These Steps Will Prepare You for Success and the Ultimate China Experience

STEP 1

PREPARE

We’ve attended the Canton Fair since 1989 … and we know that a key to getting the most out of the week we’ll spend in China is preparation.

Your preparation will begin a few months before our trip. As a bonus, you’ll get access to our online training program, which walks you through our entire private labeling process.

We also host 4 live training webinars and bring in guest speakers to ensure that you understand how to build a private label products business … and how to determine the right suppliers to work with, how to negotiate like the big guys to get the best pricing, how to find your product and suppliers that are eager to work with you and will make whatever you want work. These are secrets that no one knows… but that we’ve been using with success for decades.

We’ll also help you secure your Chinese visa – including extending an official invitation from our Chinese company to join us at the Fair.

By the time we hit the fair, you’ll know everything you need to know to make your trip a success, including exactly what to do – and where to be. Every detail is thoughtfully planned out (and if you like checklists… you’re in for a treat). STEP 2

PRACTICE

Your education and preparation continue once in China. During a jam-packed day of classroom training, you’ll discover practical tips and strategies, such as Chinese business etiquette, how to negotiate and do business with Chinese companies proficiently (there is a skill to this), ways to prepare and navigate the fair to make the best use of your time (there is a strategy), what needs to happen after the fair – and so much more.

During an intensive day of coaching, you’ll get to practice everything you’ve learned before we hit the fair.

We’ll take you on a tour of our factory, so you can see product development, manufacturing, packaging and exporting in action. You’ll then get to fine-tune your negotiating skills in a real-life market… so you can head to the fair confident in your ability to secure win-win deals. We’ll also be diving deeper into your business to help you flesh out a winning private label products strategy.

During our second day of practice, we’ll head to the fair for a demo. You’ll discover how to navigate the fair, how to negotiate, build business relationships, and find wholesale suppliers and the perfect product for your business. You’ll wrap up the day touring the fair with your own personal mentor from the Private Label University team.

STEP 3

IMPLEMENT

For four solid days, you’ll explore the fair with your PLU personal mentor by your side. Check out products, meet with wholesale suppliers, negotiate deals… and, of course, get lots of samples.

After the fair, you’ll get a 1:1 call with Karen and Neil to discuss what to do next and how to keep the momentum going. Get your questions answered and then create a plan to turn the product you found into a thriving business or new revenue stream.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You will need a valid passport as well as a Chinese Visa. But don’t worry. The process is so simple and in our pre-China trip orientation, we will walk you through the necessary paperwork and provide you with an invitation from our personal company to apply for a Chinese Visa. It takes a few days to a couple of weeks to obtain a visa.

Yes. Our Chinese company would be honored to have you attend with us. We will provide you an invitation to the fair. With this invitation, you can then pre-register for the fair.

Yes and no. There are many companies who are exhibiting at the fair who will bring English-speaking staff. However, in our 35 plus years of attending the fair, we recommend that you have an interpreter to assist you.

As part of this LIVE event you are paired with a PLU business partner who can speak Chinese to help you with negotiations and communication. They act as an interpreter, but most importantly, they are your business mentor at the fair. They are trained by PLU and understand our entire proprietary process.

With a valid invitation, the fair is free. However, you will be responsible for your airfare and hotel room, transportation to the hotel, a few meals, and anything else you wish to purchase. Airfare is very inexpensive to China. Round trip flights typically range from $500 to $1200 US dollars. 4 and 5 star hotels range from $50-500 per night. If you book early, you can find accommodations as low as $30/night.

Want to stay with us at The Langham Place directly across the street from the Fair? Ask us about special rates, which are available for only a limited time. Your admission covers our field trip transportation to the factory and market, as well as lunch.

Yes to the food. The food is very safe and very delicious. It is not typical Chinese food you eat in the USA. There are no egg rolls. Everything is made fresh. As for the water, stay away from tap water. When traveling internationally, we recommend using bottled water.

Absolutely YES! You will find that you will be surrounded not only by us during our time together, but also by all the like-minded product entrepreneurs who join the event. Many come with spouses, friends or business partners (see discount) — and plenty travel on their own. New friendships and business relationships develop from this event. Of course, you will have some time when you are not at the Fair to enjoy the sites. Keep in mind that we will be visiting a local factory and local market on our field trip and hitting some of the beautiful sites.
