Are there other options to attend the fair?

Of course!

  1. You can attend yourself and figure out how to be successful at the fair.
  2. You can attend with another group but most likely they are just learning how to be successful doing business internationally. Most likely newbies too.  Remember this is not Alibaba this is directly the source.  Do you want to be traveling learning from someone who is learning themselves?
  3. You can attend with Amazon Sellers and travel halfway around the world to talk about Amazon (seems expensive to me for that knowledge). FYI: Amazon’s knowledge and product selection based on Amazon criteria is useless in China.
  4. You can attend with a group who promises you training but the training stops at the most important time…  When you need it the most!  IN THE FAIR. Read the fine detail- NO ONE shares IN THE FAIR business partner training and support.  If they do, they hired an interpreter.  They not actual business mentors who understand importing and international business.  Without a support team and a 1:1 business partner, success comes much harder.  Did you know some of our team members who will be with you by your side at the fair have been with us for over 20 years? Step 1: PREPARE

We’ve attended the Canton Fair since 1989 … and we know that a key to getting the most out of the week we’ll spend in China, is preparation.

Your preparation will begin a few months before our trip. As a bonus, you will join us for a 2-day live International Business class that is geared to give you the strategies and knowledge to be extremely successful at the fair, like an international MBA in a sense. These are the same strategies we use to train retail stores.  You will also participate in 4 – live China Prep training webinars to ensure that you understand exactly what you need to prepare for prior to arriving in China.  These are secrets that no one knows… but that we’ve been using with success for decades.

We’ll also help you secure your Chinese visa – including extending an official invitation from our Chinese company to join us at the Fair.

By the time we hit the fair, you’ll know everything you need to know to make your trip a success, including exactly what to do – and where to be. Every detail is thoughtfully planned out (and if you like checklists… you’re in for a treat). This extraordinary level of preparation is just one reason so many business owners are comfortable traveling alone with us.

Step 2 – PRACTICE

Your education and preparation continue once in China. Yup, we hit the trenches.  Prior to arriving you will be fully trained through our extensive live training that you will be ready to start practicing prior to the fair. But don’t worry, you will have our team by your side as we practice the skill you learned.  We want to make sure you are 100% ready for the fair.  Remember we guarentee success of finding suppliers and products.  This is so much fun!

As a fun bonus we share with you our factory. We’ll take you on a tour of our factory, so you can see product development, manufacturing, packaging and exporting in action. You’ll then get to fine-tune your negotiating skills in a real-life market… so you can head to the fair confident in your ability to secure win-win deals. We’ll also be diving deeper into your business to help you flesh out a winning private label products strategy.

During our second day of practice, we’ll head to the fair for a demo. You’ll discover how to navigate the fair, how to negotiate, build business relationships, and find suppliers and the perfect product for your business. You’ll wrap up the day touring the fair with your own personal mentor from the Private Label University team. NOTE: During the fair, you will be partnered with your own private PLU mentor.  They will be with you all the days of the fair as outlined in this program.

Step 3 – IMPLEMENT

For all the days in the fair, you’ll explore the fair with your PLU personal mentor by your side. Check out products, meet with wholesale suppliers, negotiate deals… and, of course, get lots of samples.

After the fair, you’ll get a 1:1 call with Karen and Neil to discuss what to do next and how to keep the momentum going. Get your questions answered and then create a plan to turn the product you found into a thriving business or new revenue stream.

No worries. Most first-time attendees don’t have products in mind … and we prefer that! This way, you are open to the opportunities presented by the many unique and new products that the Canton Fair brings.

In our first private 1:1 call, we will walk you through our product discovery session and get you focused so when you arrive at the fair you know what you should be looking for. Not to mention you are going to have tons of training time and prep time with us.  You will be a pro before you set foot in China.

Phase 2: You will arrive on April 23rd any time. Keep in mind the travel time.  In many cases you may be leaving your country 1-2 days prior.

Departure:

Phase 2: You will depart Guangzhou, China. You can leave any time.

Phase 3: You will depart Guangzhou, China .  If you want to maximize the day we recommend using the last day as a free day on your own at the fair and a great day to pick up your samples. We receommend departing the last day of the event in the late afternoon or stay an extra day. The last day of the event is a good day to pick up your samples in the morning and depart in the early or late evening.

What about them?

Did you know that tarriff codes have been around and being charged since the beginning of trade and the rise and fall everyday.  Tariff codes are NOT NEW.  The media has created a puplic scare and awareness of them.  They are there to help regulate trade and are not bad or to be avoided.

The good news is so many people don’t understand them and the media is helping to scare new businesses and companies from developing new products because of all the tariff talk.

Why is this good news?  Well, it is good for us because it is keeping people away from working with Chinese manufacturers and from the Canton Fair which means less competition doing what I am doing and the suppliers are now so much more eager and willing to work with us then ever before.  They are so much more accommodating in lower the quantities you need to order to as low as 100 pieces.

So yes good news especially competition part… the competition is staying away as they are too scared to create new product because they they don’t really understand tariff codes.  Remember tariffs are not new, have always been there.  They are just now the topic of the media.

You will need a valid passport as well as a Chinese Visa. But don’t worry. The process is so simple and in our pre-China trip orientation, we will walk you through the necessary paperwork and provide you with an invitation from our personal company to apply for a Chinese Visa. It takes a few days to a couple of weeks to obtain a visa.

Yes. Our Chinese company would be honored to have you attend with us. We will provide you an invitation to the fair. With this invitation, you can then pre-register for the fair.

Yes and no. There are many companies who are exhibiting at the fair who will bring English-speaking staff. However, in our 35 plus years of attending the fair, we recommend that you have an interpreter to assist you.

As part of this LIVE event you are paired with a PLU business partner who can speak Chinese to help you with negotiations and communication. They act as an interpreter, but most importantly, they are your business mentor at the fair. They are trained by PLU and understand our entire proprietary process.

With a valid invitation, the fair is free. However, you will be responsible for your airfare and hotel room, transportation to the hotel, a few meals, and anything else you wish to purchase. Airfare is very inexpensive to China. Round trip flights typically range from $500 to $1200 US dollars. 4 and 5 star hotels range from $50-500 per night. If you book early, you can find accommodations as low as $30/night.

Want to stay with us at The Langham Place directly across the street from the Fair? Ask us about special rates, which are available for only a limited time. Your admission covers our field trip transportation to the factory and market, as well as lunch.

Yes to the food. The food is very safe and very delicious. It is not typical Chinese food you eat in the USA. There are no egg rolls. Everything is made fresh. As for the water, stay away from tap water. When traveling internationally, we recommend using bottled water.

Of course, you will have some time when you are not at the Fair to enjoy the sites. Keep in mind that we will be visiting a local factory and local market on our field trip and hitting some of the beautiful sites.
