With just over three weeks left until Christmas, you’re in the home stretch with your private labeling holiday sales. There are just a few more things you need to know to make sure you make the most money possible without running into snags along the way.
Amazon Deadline Approaching
Any inventory for Christmas shopping must be at Amazon fulfillment centers by December 5, if you’re planning to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) services. This means you should already have your inventory on the way, but if you don’t, check with your supplier to see if there’s a chance you can get that last-minute shipment to the fulfillment centers by next week.
Create Your Own Deadline
Even if you’re not using FBA services and plan to ship all of your private label products yourself this holiday selling season, you should have a deadline in mind for your inventory arrival. Keep in mind that a LOT of things are being shipped during this time of year, which means the inventory you’re counting on to fulfill your orders could be late. If you plan later deadlines, you could end up disappointing a lot of customers.
Plan Extra Inventory
With three weeks left in the holiday selling season, you may feel like you still have plenty of time to mitigate any issues that come up. You really need to plan for the worst possible scenario to ensure you get through the end of the season in the best possible shape. For instance, if you sell items that are fragile, what is your plan when half of a shipment shows up broken? How will you fulfill all your orders when you are scrambling order a new shipment before the deadline?
With extra inventory, you’re ready for anything that comes up, from misprints to breaks to wrong sizes and colors. Don’t worry: If you have extra when the season is over, you’ll just have more to sell later.
