Here at PLU, we’re planning our annual trip to the China Import and Export Fair, better known as the Canton Fair. Held in Guangzhou, China, the Canton Fair has been an annual institution each spring for the past 125 years. This exhibition not only attracts giants in the industry—Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Costco were all in attendance last year—but also hundreds of thousands of other buyers. We’ve been attending for the last 35 years, and we think—no, we know—you should definitely attend the fair with us.
Train Before You Travel
Before you ever set foot on a plane, we will give you one-on-one training. We’ll also schedule 3 group webinars with all our students making the trip. Once our group arrives in China, we devote an entire day of in-class International Business Training. This is where you’ll learn how to do business the Chinese way, which is all about developing relationships. Building long-lasting business relationships in China is wholly different than developing business relationships in the USA, Canada, or Europe. We’ve spent decades mastering this skill, and we will share our expertise with you during our full day of group training.
On-Site PLU Team
Next, we’ll do a full day of training with our China team. You’ll visit the factories, where you can see for yourself how their operations work. There will be no guessing if they’re really running as well as they claim to be on their websites, because you’ll view the production floors with your very own eyes.
When it’s time to visit the Fair, we’ll pair you up with your own personal PLU business partner/trainer. This is a PLU team member who speaks the language and understand the Canton Fair. Your personal business trainer will stick by your side for the entire 4 full days of the fair. (No one else offers anything like this!!)

We also have you experience authentic Chinese culture firsthand. Our team—you included—takes tours of the local area and local markets, and we all eat lunch together in a famous Guangzhou restaurant.
The Canton Fair is huge. There will be over 25,000 exhibitors this year in the 1,700,000.5 square foot exhibition hall of the Canton Fair Complex. Imagine walking around in a room the size of nearly 30 football fields, filled with tens of thousands of vendors, and tens of thousands of buyers. Have we mentioned there’s a language barrier? Trust us, this is not an event you want to try and navigate on your own.
